Rita Ora Bio
Rita Ora is a British artist and singer. She was born Rita Sahatciu Ora in 1990 in Pristina, Kosovo, to Vera (Bajraktari) and Besnik Sahatciu. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. At the age of one, her family decided to relocate to the United Kingdom. She grew up in West London and attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court, following which she was accepted into Sylvia Young Theatre School and then St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing from a young age.In 2004, she appeared in the British film Spivs. She was chosen to audition for Eurovision Your Country requires You as a British contestant for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. However she decided to withdraw from the competition after only a few shows because she did not feel prepared. In 2007, Ora got her first music album when she performed on the track by Craig David entitled "Awkward" and later in 2008 with "Where's Your Love" with Tinchy Stryder. For this track, she is also featured in the video. Ora started singing in bars across London. Roc Nation was told by an A&R agent about Ora in 2009, just a few days after Ora was on her way to New York and met Jay-Z. Ora was featured in Jay-Z's 2009 music video for "Young Forever" and "Over" from Drake. Ora was noticed by Jay-Z and he quietly signed her up to Roc Nation, in which she appeared in commercials for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was a proprietor of a pub and she began her singing performances from the same pub. Gwen Stefani was her major influence.
