Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. Anne Burrell. Burrell hosts of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network, as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host sporting spiky blonde locks and a lively personality, explains how to cook restaurant-style dishes in your home with simple techniques. Chef Burrell studied and worked in some of the most prestigious New York restaurants. He has also competed in Iron Chef America and the cuisine of Italy. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up living in New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. She pursued her passion for the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was the place where I experienced the most enjoyable time of my life. I was unable to learn enough, didn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. While in Italy Burrell developed a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian food and culture. It is a huge influence on the way she approaches her cuisine. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of struggling children. Burrell is also a Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate, where she has a mission to raise awareness for juvenile diabetics. Burrell travels extensively across the nation in her capacity as both a mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her career and love of cooking. Anne declared that she felt fortunate in that she could be able to share her passion for cooking with others.
